CyberChess 2026 brings cybersecurity professionals to Riga on 14–15 October during European Cybersecurity Month. On travel days, booking, payment, document and account security deserve as much attention as choosing the car.

Verify the booking channel before you pay
Type the official website address or open the company app yourself, then check the operator’s identity, contact details, total price, currency and cancellation terms. HTTPS encrypts the connection but does not prove the operator is legitimate, so distrust unexpected links, urgency and requests to pay outside the platform.
Protect the account and identity documents
Use a unique password, enable multi-factor authentication, and update the device and browser. Send only the minimum documents through the company’s official workflow; never email or chat passport or card data, and do not save a card on a shared device.
Use airport, hotel and café Wi-Fi carefully
CISA recommends avoiding shopping, banking and sensitive transactions on open Wi-Fi and using cellular service when needed. Disable auto-connect and unnecessary Bluetooth, use your own charger or power bank instead of an unknown USB port, and log out when finished.
Respond quickly to suspicious activity
Stop the transaction and contact the rental provider and card issuer through their official channels. Lock the card if necessary, change the password from a trusted device, save receipts and screenshots, and report fraud to the appropriate authority.
