Match the car to the passenger before booking
The 2026 theme is building sustainable care and support systems through decent work. On a rental trip, good support starts by asking the passenger what they actually need. Confirm vehicle class, seat height, door opening and mobility-aid space, and never assume an adaptive feature is available without written confirmation.
Make pickup a calm fit check, not a race
Allow extra time, park on level ground, and set the seat, belt and mirrors before moving. Test entry and exit safely, then secure a wheelchair, cane or walker so it cannot shift. If the car does not fit the passenger or equipment, request another vehicle before leaving the location.
Agree roles and rest stops before the road
Decide who is legally driving, who handles luggage and communication, and when to pause. Keep medication, water and a phone within the passenger’s reach rather than in the boot, and share the return route and contact.
