International Snow Leopard Day is 23 October. Whether visiting its range or another reserve, use the rental car for access—not to chase or crowd wildlife.

Choose an authorised site and guide
Check permits, season, weather and road status on the official site. Use an approved local guide, and distrust any guaranteed sighting or undisclosed location.
Match the vehicle to the permitted road
Ask about road condition, fuel or charging and tyres. Follow the rental agreement; enter no mountain or unpaved track without written permission and a suitable vehicle.
Drive slowly and stop safely
Watch for animal crossings and obey speed limits. Never stop in the traffic lane; use a designated pullout, switch off engine and lights, and leave the animal an escape route.
Watch from a distance and leave no trace
Use binoculars or a long lens. Never feed, call or follow wildlife, and do not publish sensitive locations. Keep food and waste inside the car until a secure bin.
