UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy Week runs 24–31 October 2026. Verify rental-car prices, deposits, mileage, fuel and cancellation terms before paying.
Turn critical thinking into a clearer car-rental booking
UNESCO marks Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2026 under the theme “We All Play a Part – Media and Information Literacy for the People.” The same habit helps when comparing cars: identify the source of each claim, separate the headline offer from the written terms, and obtain clear confirmation before paying.
Verify the seller, vehicle and final cost
Match the website, company name and contact details, then check the vehicle category, dates, pickup and return location, currency, taxes, airport or delivery fees, and security deposit. Do not compare the base rate alone; save the offer and request a written total, as FTC guidance recommends comparing the complete cost.
Read the operating terms before reserving
Confirm mileage, fuel policy, coverage and excess, extra-driver, age and one-way fees, cancellation rules, and deposit release. Generic photos, vague locations, pressure to pay quickly, or requests to transfer money outside the platform deserve another check. Keep your Rent Car Deals quote and booking confirmation for collection.
